May the Holy Trinity provide us peace, prosperity, and good health on this day.
Happy Rath Yatra!
The world’s largest chariot festival,
Rathyatra, has a fascinating tale leading up to it. The story revolves around
three deities: Lord Jagannath, his elder brother Balabhadra and his younger
sister Subhadra who, during these celebrations, are taken from their home
temple to another temple, located in what is believed to be their aunt’s home.
The journey is depicted in the ancient Puranas,
or Indian traditional lore.
Rathyatra is a
symbol of unity, brotherhood and peace. This year, with due encouragement from
the teachers, young artists of the Pre-Primary section decorated handmade paper
chariots and deities through a group activity and celebrated the day.
